Tolani F. G. Polytechnic Adipur and ISTE Gujarat Section has jointly organized the 21^st ISTE State Annual Faculty convention 2016 (Gujarat) & National Conference on “Emerging Trends in Engineering” at Tolani F.G. Polytechnic, Adipur on 27^th December 2016. The Convention had overwhelming response form academician and researchers and 231 delegates registered for the same.

Prof. K. Venkateshwarlu, Principal, Tolani F. G. Polytechnic, Adipur delivered welcome address. Hon’ble Mrs. Nirmlaben Wadhwani, Minister of State – Women & Child Welfare, (Gujarat), who could not attend the convention due to urgent work, offered her best wishes for the convention in her video message. Prof. K. M. Bhavsar, President ISTE Gujarat Section highlighted activities undertaken by ISTE Gujarat section in previous year. Mr. Ramesh Maheshwari, MLA, Gandhidham & Guest of Honour, welcomed all delegates at Adipur and wished that the meet will bring more engineering and scientific innovation. Shri L. H. Daryani Campus director, GCB, briefed delegates about Tolani Vidhya Mandir activities including institutions run by trust. President of function Mrs. Anjana Hazari, President Gandhidham Collegiate Board, in her address welcomed all delegates at Tolani campus and highlighted trust contribution in education. Chief guest of function, Prof Pratapsingh K Desai, President ISTE, New Delhli in his address highlighted the challenges for faculty in current scenario asked them to bring changes in teaching - learning process for effective learning of students as per need of hour.

Prof Nikul Patel, Hon. Secretary cum treasurer ISTE Gujarat Section, announced the ISTE Gujarat Section awards for year 2015-16 and dignitaries presented the awards to the recipients (annexure-I). Prof R. A. Maheshwari, Organising Secretary (convention) presented vote of thanks.

Section Management Committee-ISTE Student Chapter: SMC meeting was held after inaugural function and attended by all SMC members. Prof Pratapsingh K Desai, also present in the meeting.

$Description: C:\Users\suresh\Desktop\21st ISTE Faculty Annual Convention Photograph\DSC_0327.JPG$ During the day: After inaugural Session, Paper presentation session of “National conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering” commenced in five parallel tracks namely Emerging Trends in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Engineering Education. Total 91 papers were accepted for presentation after thorough review from expert in respective field. Out of 72 papers, 13 papers in Mechanical engineering, 11 papers in Electrical engineering, 24 in computer engineering, 18 in Civil engineering were presented. Selected papers will be published in conference e-proceedings. Session chair judged the best paper in each track. The session chair for various track and expert reviewer is given in Annexure-3.

Annual General Body meeting – ISTE Gujarat Section was held at Conference hall Tolani F. G. Polytechnic, Adipur during afternoon session and attended by SMC members and ISTE members present.

Venkateshwarlu, Principal welcomed all delegates hoped that delegates enjoyed the day of fruitful interaction and learning. Prof. Nikul Patel briefed about ISTE. Prof. L. H. Daryani, Campus Director, GCB, shared his views on the convention. Chief Guest of the function Prof Pratapsingh K. Desai, President ISTE New Delhi in his address emphasized the faculty role in betterment of students presented various opportunities for engineers in India in coming years. Participants shared their feedback and appreciated the hospitality provided by Institute. Session chairs were honoured by the institute during the function. Best Paper Presentation award were given to Authors (Annexure-1), whose papers were adjudged best by the session chair during the day. Prof S. R. Pareek, Organising Secretary (Conference) presented the vote of thanks.
